Video Pool Media Arts Centre aims to inspire curiosity and creative expression through technological empowerment and open exploration in all media art forms, cultivating experimental artistic practices and accessibility to technology through presentation, production, distribution, and education. We house the largest collection of prairie video art in Canada, present work at the intersection of technology and art in our Poolside Gallery, and The Output, our A/V performance and rehearsal venue, provides new opportunities for performance based work.
VP is Manitoba’s only artist-run centre dedicated to the exploration of technology-based art. https://videopool.org/
The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada (IATSE) was founded in 1893 when representatives of stagehands working in eleven cities met in New York and pledged to support each others’ efforts to establish fair wages and working conditions for their members. Today, we work in all forms of live theater, motion picture and television production, trade shows and exhibitions, television broadcasting, and concerts as well as the equipment and construction shops that support all these areas of the entertainment industry. https://iatse.net/
We are more than 150,000 workers strong in virtually all arts, media, and entertainment crafts, and our mission is to improve all entertainment workers’ lives both inside and outside the workplace.

Founded in 2005, the WNDX Festival programs new and innovative moving image works from across Canada and around the globe, with a mandate to showcase films made in our immediate community. We celebrate the impetus of screening work from underrepresented communities who are often ignored by mainstream film festival circuits, and strive to find the most innovative, challenging and original moving image works. We are committed to equitable compensation for artists’ labour, and pay screening and professional fees to all the artists who make our show possible. The WNDX Festival of Moving takes place in Winnipeg, MB, over 5 takes in the fall, and additionally present off-festival screenings throughout the calendar year. WNDX operates on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional territory of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
Our mandate also includes collaborative program initiatives with other prairie Artist Run Centres, educational and training opportunities within our community, and initiatives to foster critical discourse in media arts. We consider all moving image art practices, including film, video, performance, installation, new media forms and beyond. https://wndx.org/

FLIPSIDE’s vision is to give the world a voice through virtual and augmented reality. They are building the future of entertainment, a future where everyone has the tools to bring their imagination to life and to share it with the world. VR and AR are incredibly complex technologies that are reshaping how we interact with computers and with each other, but that complexity leaves many would-be creators on the sidelines. At Flipside, they’re building a much simpler way of doing things so that everyone can join in. https://www.flipsidexr.com/
